Season 2024-2025
Early Registration Period ~ September to late November.
Late Registration Period ~ Late November to late December.
NVWF Practices Typically Begin ~ Similar to the High School Wrestling Schedule.
- Normally the season starts practices in early November when respective counties release facility space.
- Practices generally coincide with the Virginia High School League (VHSL) season start in November.
- VHSL announced that the first practices may begin December 15, 2024.
- Therefore, county parks and recreation offices are expected to authorize use of facilities around those dates.
- Clubs that use private facilities will start earlier commensurate with VA State guidelines.
NVWF Regular Tournament Scrimmage Competitions
- Youth sports may hold competitions any time after December 15th.
- VHSL declared the first competition event may start December 28th.
- VHSL declared the last day of high school wrestling as February 20th.
- Youth sports may extend youth competitions through the end of February.
Typical Weighin Times for various Competition Age Divisions for each Event:
Bantam/Midget: 8:00 am – 8:30 am
Juniors: 10:00 am – 10:30 am
Intermediates: 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm
Seniors: 2:30pm – 3:00 pm
