Senior World Championships
11–19 September 2027·Las Vegas, United States
Las Vegas, September 2027. A world championship that also begins the awarding of places for the Los Angeles Games.
The 2027 senior world championships are scheduled for 11 to 19 September at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. They are a world championship first. They are also, in the Olympic weights, the meet at which medals are set to earn national-team places for Los Angeles 2028.
That double duty will distort some previews. A wrestler may chase a weight because of a place rather than because it is where they wrestle best. NVWF will say so when it is true, and will still call the gold medal a world title. The Games do not erase the meet they use.
Between now and then: Astana, a winter and spring of ranking events, and the continental championships of 2027. None of those are Las Vegas. All of them are how the Las Vegas bracket gets its shape.
